Even if the song is difficult, the personal interest will help you overcome the difficulty of learning it and in the process, you will be making a big leap forward in your own musical journey. I think a favorite song is the greatest teacher. Even if I learn it, I will eventually drop from what I can recall from memory. Anything less than a deep personal interest in a song will cause it to eventually fall by the wayside. If I am working on a song I love, the song itself sees to generate a lot of 'horsepower' to motivate the task of understanding how the song is put together, arranging the tune for me and my ukulele, memorising the tune, and keeping it as a fresh and abiding part of my repertoire. Looking for a song specific to the ukulele, just because I happen to play that as an instrument is, to my way of thinking, something like putting the cart before the horse. I just let my own interest in music (songs, genres, bands, etc) be the 'fuel' for powering my own musical adventure.
